| Austin's premier public cement skate park. Go there today and SKATE! It's FREE! Take IH-35 to Woodward. Exit Woodward and go East. Go thru the first intersection and the next light is Parker Lane. Turn left on Parker Lane and go 1 block down past the credit union and there it is. Pads and helmet are not mandatory, but recommended especially for the bowl. At this time there is no public phone, so take a cell phone in case of emergency. |

 NEW
SKATE PARK UPDATE:NewLine is finalizing the plans to submit to the City for eventual permitting. Austin artist Chris Levack has been chosen by the City of Austin AIPP group(more info below) and will work with NewlIne to add a special flair to the project. Chris has already begun preliminary designs and concepts for his art and will be conferring with New Line and the City. After that, the final steps will be taken and hopefully the digging will begin between Aug-Oct. We will keep you posted on any news as it becomes available.

| March 1987...the launch date. Our humble beginnings were as a skate park. Outdoors and only $1 to skate all day. For three years we had some of the biggest stars in skateboarding visit us and skate one of the largest metal ramps in the country. It was super fun, 80's style. As skating started to evolve, we moved the park indoors, catering more to the "new" street-style and mini ramp set-ups. Through the 90's the shop grew from a 400 square foot location to eventually the site on the Drag and then Rio Grande where we had hip-hop and punk shows every weekend. Lots of fun times. We made videos and started ATX skateboards. We worked closely with the City and got the first park opened in the Clarksville neighborhood, donating our ramps and props to get it started. We continued working with Parks and Rec and were able to move the props over to the Austin Rec Center. Meanwhile, the shop moved to our current location on MLK and we began the push for the Mable Davis cement park. After years of hard work and perseverance, we conquered over the nay-sayers and Mable Davis was built. Now, we push on toward the future with a brand new look to the shop, incredible new product, and working directly with the City to build a new park at the Austin Rec Center starting this year.
